Prospective applicants: please read carefully before applying.

Steep Rock Arts is a small not for profit group. Therefore, given the volume of applications we receive each year, we are not able to respond to each application. In addition, all applicants should consider that the residency is an opportunity to have two month in solitude.

Residents are on their own for most of the time in a small town. Neighbors are friendly and there are nearby shops - but it is a small, quiet village. Residents should feel comfortable working and living on their own (or with their families)

Applications are due by December 31 of each year and winners will be notified by mid February.

There are three residency periods each year. Each residency is an 8-week period. Please indicate which time period will work best for your schedule and the Board will make every effort to accommodate the request.
